The Reenactment of the
Battle of Cedar Creek

Every year, thousands of infantry, cavalry and artillery reenactors gather to commemorate the Civil War’Äôs last great battle in the Shenandoah Valley, the Battle of Cedar Creek. This reenactment remains  a favorite because it takes place on the original battlefield in Middletown, Virginia.  This year, as we approach the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Creek, we will highlight the Battles of Cool Springs and Rutherford’Äôs Farm, two little known engagements that immediately preceded the Cedar Creek battle.

The fine fall weather and the opportunity to reenact on an actual battlefield provide a perfect backdrop for both spectators and reenactors alike. We invite you to join us in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in 2012 and step back in time to experience the events that took place on these fields one hundred and forty-eight years ago.

The reenactment is sponsored by the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation, a non-profit 501c(3) organization, with proceeds benefiting the interpretation and preservation of the battlefield and historic Heater House.

Please help us defray some of the cost of the event by becoming a sponsor of the event.  For more information, contact executive.director@ccbf.us.
